What Do We Do? - studio

Story Behind The Song

What do we do was written off the phrase: "We twist it and turn it." It just happened to be, when talking politics, a friend of mine said it, with just the right elixir in my blood, I was moved to write a spontaneous poem. I brought it over to my friend Marlene's house and she played a rhythm for it. We wrote the song in 20 minutes, even with the bridge. Marlene is an incredible singer songwriter in her own right.

Song Description

I'd like to say this song reflects what happens on FOX News & the tea party. The same thing happened in Italy, Spain, and Germany in the 30's. The people were brought to financial depression, they were angry and the rich propagated deceptions that blinded the masses and allowed the industrialists and transnational financiers to take over the government. People are fickle and yet money is NOT God. Honest. The song is deep.

Lyrics

What Do We Do?

What do we do with the image in our eye?
We twist it and turn it
Ignore it and discern it
We fake it and learn it
Embrace it and burn it
Loves' parasite that frees us from our mind
We crawl or fly
We brawl or sigh
We live or die
Distort it and report it on the sly
What do we do?
What do we do
What do we do??
Is it the method of our madness?
Sadness gladness?
Ahhhhh ahhhhhhhh

Bridge:
Fleeting moments of knowing what we've done
While feigning questions of why!

How could I be deceived by a wonder in the making?
Seduced by eyes of black and white
Abort ignite
Betray it and we slay it in the light
What do we do
What do we do
What do we do???
Is it the method in our madness?
Sadness gladness?
